Understand the legal position
before making plans.

A provider offering a programme does not establish your eligibility. Surrogacy requires a separate review of local law, your circumstances and the child’s legal status.

Keep four questions separate

  1. Medical care: who provides treatment, holds the licence and explains clinical suitability?
  2. Contract and eligibility: who may participate and what arrangement is permitted?
  3. Parentage and nationality: who will be recognised as a parent, and how will nationality be established?
  4. Documents and travel: what is required for registration, a passport or travel document, and departure?

A local birth certificate alone should not be treated as proof that every other country will recognise parentage or issue travel documents. Obtain case-specific confirmation from the relevant authorities.
