Start with a shortlist
Begin with the care you are seeking and the information a provider can supply. Compare two or three clinics using the same questions rather than relying on a single advertised price.
Our directory records provider websites, reported services, published programme prices where available and information still to be confirmed. It is not a complete register of licensed facilities.
Separate the medical provider from any coordinator or agency. Ask which legal entity will sign the treatment contract, take payment and hold your medical records.
Arrange a clinical conversation
Ask how an initial consultation works, who will review your history and whether a written summary is included. Share medical records through the clinic’s agreed secure channel, not a public enquiry box.
- Who is the treating clinician, and what information is needed to assess your options?
- Can initial assessment or monitoring be done near home?
- Which parts of the plan could change after an in-person assessment?
- Who will explain consent forms in a language you understand?
A coordinator can help with practical arrangements; clinical recommendations should come from the responsible clinical team.
Get the scope in writing
Request a dated, patient-specific quote showing currency, treatment stages, inclusions and exclusions. Ask how unused services, a cancelled cycle or a change in treatment would affect charges.
Keep medical fees separate from flights, accommodation, interpretation, translation and any agency or coordination fee. See our cost guide for a comparison framework.
Plan a flexible visit
Ask the clinic for an estimated visit schedule and the circumstances that could extend it. Avoid treating a general cycle length as a guaranteed number of days abroad.
Check entry, registration and permitted stay rules for your nationality through official sources. Confirm the address where treatment will actually occur, airport arrangements and access to interpretation. See the travel preparation guide.
Arrange care after your visit
Before leaving, ask for a discharge or treatment summary, medication instructions, a testing schedule and a named follow-up contact. Clarify how your local clinician and the overseas team will communicate.
Ask the treating team which symptoms require urgent assessment and where to seek care. Emergency needs should be directed to local emergency services rather than a website enquiry form.
